Carl "That's" Wright
Carl Wright believes in destiny. And he believes it has always been his destiny to be a sportscaster. And if his newest stint as the broadcasting voice of the Carnivores is any evidence, he may just be right about that destiny thing.
Raised in an uptown New York apartment to a family of die hard sports fanatics, 48-year-old Wright began his career early. His parents and older brothers made sure he was in earshot of the radio during sporting events even before he could talk, and he was spouting out the play-by-play before most kids in his class could recite the alphabet.
"That's right," states an ever-smiling Wright. "I've been a football fan from the age of 5 to the age of 10, to 15, to the 20, to the 30, ALWAYS!"
Wright had his first experience as a sports broadcaster while attending a high school football game in Brooklyn, NY. His brother was home sick and couldn't be in attendance, so Carl gave him the play-by-play from a pay phone next to the field.
And the rest is history.
